welcome to my substack! how truly wonderful it is to have you here.
okay so look—i am not a writer by any means. i think i even have undiagnosed dyslexia to be quite honest. but, i have a lot to say—about many things. so here we are! i have been debating starting a substack for so bloody long, and in classic chloe lucas-walsh style, i kept on putting it off. until now, that is!
if you are here from ig, then i am sure you are familiar with my cooking, what i do for work and with my day to day. but, if you are new here—my name is chloe and i am home cook turned self taught british chef living and loving here in sunny los angeles. i am a freelance recipe developer, food stylist, content creator, art director and all-around creative. i host supper clubs out of my home, as well as working as a private chef in my spare time too. in short—i’m a cook, i love food, i love community, i love people, i love my life here in los angeles and i adore to travel.
i share a lot of this on my ig—but i have been dreaming about another medium in which i can go more into detail with my various kitchen experiments for example. or revisit recipes that sometimes might not make my instagram but are still (in my eyes) so worthy to talk about. perhaps my thoughts on food, food history and anthropology. musings on travel, travel recommendations, restaurant reviews, and what it’s like living in california as a british person (it’s pretty damn great). there will of course be some lifestyle bits and bobs and more often than not—updates on my cats (and so much more).
so this is it! a space in which i can do all of that, and i hope you will come along on this journey of self discovery with me.
